Temple Crag from First Lake. Our first camp was at Third Lake,
not far from where this photo was taken.

Our second camp was in a little spot in some rocks on an exposed ridge. We got off route
down by the lakes, and had to do some difficult cross-country travel to get over to the glacier.
We ran out of light not far from the glacier, and ended up pitching the tent in a fierce
wind and the increasing darkness. It was far too windy to cook, so we ate some trail food
and crashed.

Our high camp, on the glacial moraine.

The moraine lake and the glacier, from the top of the moraine.

Mt. Sill as seen from our high camp. Notice the color in the clouds. The Swiss Arete
route follows the ridge line on the left.

Mike on the Glacier Notch, just below Mt. Sill.

A weather front that passed through produced this spectacular Sierra Wave. My poor attempt
at photographing it hardly does justice to the vision we witnessed.
